More S about to HTF in the Mid East

With the assasination of Rafik Hiriri, the Syrians have thrown the gauntlet down over their control of events in Lebanon, squashing any hope for a return to democracy there in the near future. The Bakaa Valley is too important to the Islamofascists to give up without a fight. Coupled with the murder of Hiriri is the announcement today that Syria and Iran have formed an alliance against western ongoing interests in the region. We have recalled our ambassador from Damascus. Even as I write this, contingency plans are being put in motion to respond to this belligerent shift in the status quo in the region. I know that I sound like a goof for describing it in those terms, but active planning is now taking place to respond to these recent events. In the coming days, you mght look for us to ratchet up pressure both diplomatically and militarily against the Syrians and take a much tougher stance against the Iranians. Carrier groups may be placed on alert in the Med and in the Gulf. You may look for alerts in Air Force tactical and stategic bombing units in the region.
Buckle your seatbelts and place your tray tables in the upright position. The war may be about to get wider.

Have no fear, we do have a DIA agent here (sorry, couldn't resist).

True, it does seem as if the sides are squaring off and it may yet get ugly. If anything hits these countries (true of not, I was thinking that this mornings "secret attack" which turned out to not be) is going to start this thing off.

We'll just to wait and see and store up for the worse here.

gburner-
I really don't like getting on Members like this.....but this is not the L&P Forum we originally founded.

Are we to understand that you have direct information on 1) Top Secret, Impending Military Action In The Gulf, 2) at The Pentagon Level, 3) are Disclosing It On An Internet Forum, but 4) Can't Give Us Any Further Details??????

If you've already committed to 1,2 and 3; what in the world concerns you about disclosing 4?
Rich

My apologies. As I stated earlier, I didn't want to sound like a goof, but I guess that's how I came across regardless of my intention. The information that I posted is pure conjecture on my part based on adding up several details that I have gleaned thru the media and personal contacts in the past few days. In my haste to draw folks attention to the scenario, perhaps I came across awkwardly. I have no direct information that any of this is about to jump off. At best, I have made an educated guess and wanted to pass it along for group discussion. Please don't confuse me with Jack
Bauer :).

Bless you, GB, and carry on.

As opinion, it bcomes far more plausible....and, actually, a thought provoking thread. As inside info....well, I think you understand my discomfort.

Thanks much for the clarification. The problem was with, "I have first hand knowledge that active planning is taking place and cannot detail it any further".

I always keep an eye to the 2/3 TFL users that just lurk for info. That isn't the way I want "responsible firearms owners" perceived. I think you agree.

I wouldn't be surprised if the CIA had something to do with the assassination. We're supposed to care about what goes on in Syria why? Why am I supposed to care about Syria and why is our military supposed to be there?

Wasn't Candy just saying a couple days ago that military action toward Iran is "not on the table". Well let's engineer an assassination to help us along in justifying the next war for the New World Order military industrial complex to drive us deeper into bankruptcy. I love being cannon fodder for the New World Order, don't you too!?!?

Wake up America, our government has been hijacked.

Your post is full of questions that may be sarcstic and rhetorical, I can't tell. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, though.

We should be concerned with Syria because the are one of the two main supporters of international Islamic terrorism in the region, if not the world. They insist on maintaining a destabiized Lebanon because of their use of the Bakaa Valley as a major terrorist training site as well as its use for opium/hashish production (read cash cow).

Control of Lebanon also gives them access to the Mediterranian in order to conduct sea launched terror raids on Israel as well as importing/exporting arms utilizing maritime means.

The CIA is, no doubt, involved with the bombing...with finding out who did it, that is. Apparently, there is sufficient evidence that Syria was behind it for the US to pull its ambassador and for the French to express their outrage at the Syrians.

Syria's presence in Lebanon and its continued support of terror training as well as its support for the 'insurrection' in Iraq is destabilizing to the region and a clear and present danger to the rest of the world.
Could you please provide a source for your 'quote' from Dr. Rice. My recollection is that she has had several statements regarding Syria that have become increasingly pointed as Syria ups the ante'.

Re. your statement about loving being cannon fodder for the New World Order, some thoughts come to mind...
-You have to serve to be 'cannon fodder' for any order.
That means having the stones to step up, take the oath and step off. It requires considerably more committment
than sitting at home, banging on a keyboard and dissing the folks who are in harms way.
-Better to kill our enemies in their beds than allow them to kill us in ours. YMMV.

Man, we are starting to agree more often. I'm starting to get nervous. :D

Ummmmm, our Military isn't in Syria.

Correct Rich. But as you see, the stage is being set.

They insist on maintaining a destabiized Lebanon because of their use of the Bakaa Valley as a major terrorist training site as well as its use for opium/hashish production (read cash cow).

So what's the problem with that? Opium production in Afghanistan has reached record levels in the past few years since we invaded. I'm sure you've noticed, that the Lebanese want Syria out. But if they want something done about it, they should do it themselves. It's none of our business.

Could you please provide a source for your 'quote' from Dr. Rice. My recollection is that she has had several statements regarding Syria that have become increasingly pointed as Syria ups the ante'.

gburner, it was the front page story on CNN the middle of last week. You're telling me you didn't see that? Rice very clearly said that military action against Iran is "not on the table". I knew it was bunk. Then amazingly they came out with the nuke stories about Iran and NK on the very next day. Then she started changing tune as I knew would happen.

Dissing? Amazing. I don't want our soldiers to be cannon fodder in a worthless, pointless war for the globalists, so that makes me against the soldiers. Simply amazing. So by your point of view, one has to be cannon fodder before they can be against it.

You can't even get a cited source correct. The Bloomberg piece, though well written, was about IRAN, not about SYRIA. The subject of this thread is SYRIA.
The detailed posting I gave was about SYRIA. Your reply re. DR. Rice is a non sequiter. Do try to focus.

Regarding your comments on cannon fodder...please don't put words in my mouth. I know its your stock and trade to misquote folks, then slag them but don't do it with me. You, on the other hand, have, in previous posts, called serving soldiers 'dupes' and have impersonated a combat veteran with three tours in VietNam. When called on it you played it off as a joke.
Yes, you disrespect servicemen, veterans, foriegn service workers and all other folks who do the heavy lifting while you give America the finger from your keyboard. I'd call that amazing...amazingly arrogant.

Psychosword, you just got....

Just strolling through the Muddle East and you got me wondering if this is an inference to the famous Non Sequiter cartoons or an out of focus Non Sequitur.

Rice has stopped just short of blaming Syria for Hariri's death. "We have been very clear that we don't know who is responsible for the bombing," she said

Remember now, that is the Global Plantation News quoting Docteur Rice.

Now when Docteur Rice says "the case is solved" - and who is to blame - just remember to ask for sources. Named parties, none of this "anonymous spokesman" or "un-named sources within ..." nonsense ;)

Me? I speculate it was some rapper called Mo' Sod.
