More Problems with Centurion Handgun Ammo

Some time ago I posted about Centurion 410 handgun ammo expanding so much that it was seriously difficult to get out of the chamber of my Public Defender. Well just to shoot the rest of it up, I was plinking with it via my single shot Super Comanchee. As I pulled the empties from the gun I noticed some dark rings on the primers of some of them. Close inspection showed that there was actually a pin hole created in the primer on firing and some powder had blown back through that hole. I'm not so sure now that they are even safe to plink with.

Centurion hand gun ammo is junk. Don't use it.

Live well, be safe.

sounds as if the primer cups were thin, and your firing pin compressed the metal between the anvil and hammer. That isn't necessarily a sign of high pressure, shotgun shells work at very low pressures compared to rifle primers, and you won't see them perforating just from internal pressure.

Yes, they don't seem to be safe, but I'm not sure what the problem really is.
