I spoke with Joyce Riley today and she confirmed to me that the policy I posted on earlier was in effect. However it appears they are only using the data at this time for
NICS checks to prevent purchase, not to actively condiscate.

She gave me the link below. The letter to check is the last one of the three on the page FAST 00-44.

Warnign while the site looks like part of the VA Web System There are a few things that make me wonder, like no way to go home, or back to a contents page. I'm 95% percent convinced but I want more verification before I call it 100% officially confirmed. That's why I'm posting some of you computer type here help. We need to try and confirm this is really on the VA's Veterans Benefits

The home address for the page is http://www.vba-arms.nctsw.navy.mil which is a legitimate site. However, the address given at the bottom of the document (http://vbaw.vba.va.gov/bl/21/calendar/index.htm) is non-existant. Probably some bureaucrat with 10 thumbs. The VBA home page (http://www.vba.va.gov/) has a link back to the WARMS site.
