More mossberg problems

I was out shooting today and My mossberg was doing ok on the s&B buck but when I tried 3" federal it was choking every round.

I was having failure to extracts and I couldn't get the empty shells out of the chamber, (had to stick a cleaning rod in)

It worked good with remington low recoil slugs , but I don't want to use those for home defense, do I?

so it looks like the mossberg is out and the sks is in for home defense duty.
 
Why not just stick with what works...the S&B buckshot? It will do the job nicely and is cheap. You don't need a 3" shell for HD. 2 3/4 will work very well. Try some of the Federal low recoil HD loads and also the tactical 00 buckshot. Works great out of my 870.

Speaking of cheap I tried some of the Wolf 00 buck yesterday and it works great. 250 rounds is only $69. It doesn't have a cup so you get some lead scrapping down the barrel but it groups well so it doesn't matter much until you start cleaning ;)
 
I clean it every time I shoot it but recently I took the mag and spring out and cleaned that.

its just a pump 500, this is really bugging me these things are just suppose to work.
