add one more person (me) to the growing list of m1a owners...now i have some questions
1. this is the first weapon i've owned that tells me NOT to break it down...why not..how do i clean it..keep it rust free..how far can i break it down??
2.theres a gas valve or something that allows the gas system to be turned on and off, small screw right side at front of handguard..can i use this to go into a single shot mode?
3.someone told me about needing to lube four parts or my rifle will hate me..what are they?
4.lastly(for now) i have a 1963 owners manual.. a lot has changed since then, can i use clp instead of grease/bore cleaner/ whatever else they have listed?
thanks for the patience..-johnny

Yes you can break it down into it's component parts. Contact fultonarmory.com or call AGI ( American Gun Institute), they make excellent videos, making you self sufficient with your weapon. Good Shooting......
