More Legislation, Aggressive Ignorance, or Perpetuation of More Lies?

Our local news here has as one of its headliner stories, an issue that is being pushed by one of Illinois' most leftist freedom haters, U.S. Representative (D) Rod Blagojevich (aka "Son-of-a-Bitch"). The issue is about more legislation of course (this guy has gone after everything from laser sights to .50 caliber "sniper" rifles). This time it's an effort to MAKE all gun manufacturers collect a fired bullet and a spent shell casing from each and every firearm they manufacture. This in order to have records of "gun fingerprints", which SOB says will lead to more expedient gun traces (in the many gun crimes that his BS legislation will no doubt perpetuate).

Roddy my boy, you lying sack of manure. Are you so convinced that Chicagoans are THAT stupid, or are you just poking into areas again where you have no clue what you're talking about, and hope others are just as ignorant?

That fired bullet and spent shell casing that those gun manufacturers will have on record (and no doubt you'll want in your federal databases as well), are worthless! You see, Roddy boy, all you have to do is fire that gun a few times and that so-called "fingerprint" changes. Fire that gun 500 times, clean the bore with one of the stainless steel bore brushes several times, and man-o-man, its fingerprint changes again.

But the real problem with your new ploy Roddy boy, is that those guns you're hoping to record, are brand spanking new guns, you know...the ones that have to be sold through the federal bureaucratic quagmire. The ones that are sold to law abiding folks who had to jump through your red tape laced hoops. The ones who submitted to your 4473/NICS tyranny and who become registered on your federal computers at ATF/FBI. Now you want what, something you call a "gun fingerprint" too?

How is all of that going to reduce crime Roddy boy? SSSSSssssshhh...I know, I know...it won't, it just makes people focus on something other than the real problem. Oh, what's the REAL problem, you ask? Roddy boy, the REAL problem is you and the horse you rode in on.

Paul, It pisses me off to no end to see this kind of crap too.

(I thought his “nickname” was Bag-O-Sh*t)

Next Monday, (I should be finished with it) I will be posting a controversial article by a little known author and I would be very interested in your particular views on it, if you have the time. It is a little long, about 3-4 pages.

As a matter of fact, I am very interested in what all of the “regulars” at TFL will think about it. This is some serious stuff. I would just ask one small favor, please read the entire article and don’t “scan” it before you pass judgement on it.

Skyhawk...

"Bag-O-Sh*t" it is! Either way, he's at the top of the hog chow list.

With respect to the article, I'd be happy to give you my input. BTW, I do not skim!

We have it ALL wrong. Let them pass this. Then in 5 years or so, ask them for all cases in which information on a "finger-printed" firearm led to an arrest and conviction.

Guess what? Ain't going to happen. So everyone (hopefully) realizes that legislation is NOT the cure all liberals would have us believe.

Besides all shooters know it's bogus and after awhile the bullets and casings no longer resemble whats on file. Not to mention the logistical nightmare for the BAT men.

swampgator - yes, they WILL match what's on file.

You see, you will have to re-test your licenced/registered weapon. The testing fee will be included in the cost of your registration fee, $250. It's "common sense", after all, we register/test cars!

further down this path is the day when you pick up your gun after the mandatory waiting
period and you find they have engraved your federal ID barcode into the chamber

Yeah, I guess there's always a down side. But imagine the fun you could have testing your 1911 with another barrel, then another slide etc.

It would definetly take awhile for them to catch on.

the best idea i heard was to collect brass at a LEO range & spread it arround the streets

With Easter and Passover here I thought I would interject a little of the Bible into the discussion. I am no scholar but I recall reading in the Old Testament, Isaia I think, where he talks about immoral leaders, that they would not have a clue how to rule and would begin to pass "precept upon precept and law upon law" to get a handle on the situation; to no avail of course.
