Moon clip question

I really want a s&w 627. I love everything about the gun eclxcept that it's cut for moon clips. Moon clips seem unnecessary to me. I understand that some people love them. But my question is if a gun is cut for moon clips do you have to use the moon clips in the gun?

If so does anyone know if s&w will make you one without the moon clip cut?

You can shoot loose cartridges in it.

It gets better...you can even eject those loose cartridges without moons.

I thought the moon-clip adaptation was an option. Is it now standard on the 627?

therealtwitch-are you aware there are non-recessesed cylinders (like those in Colt revolvers) and recessed cylinders and then cylinders cut for moon clips and they are different?

If this is too obvious a question then I apologize.
