Monster rifle, .950JDJ!

I'm waiting for hubel458 to do something beyond the .950 JDJ. He is well over 20,000 ft lbs but the JDJ is insane at 35,000 plus ft lbs.
 
Ed here- -It is legal as JD got a sporting use exemption from
ATF under the GCA rules.

Our 4 bore will outdo that, if we want,
like 2000gr at 3000 fps, 1500 gr at 3500.
I stay away from super heavy bullets,
as that keeps recoil down, but yet more energy.
Ours is made from straightened out full length 20mm
case, where on the 950 they shortened it a ways.
The 4bore holds 60% more powder,and it is 1" bore.Ed
 
Anything with a bore larger than .50 caliber is considered a "destructive device" under NFA regulations. Destructive devices aren't illegal, but they have to be registered with the ATF (like SBR's or Suppressors), and certain states have banned their transfer to civilians.

What exactly does one hunt with a .90-caliber rifle?

My guess is mountains, but that's just one guy's opinion.
 
I betcha the recoil would rock your world....might need to pack a bag with some clean underwear before you shoot it.

I dont think the ATF has any worries about that thing being mass marketed.
 
Have it delivered to the LGS of my choice witha box or two of ammo and I'll be happy to give a range report.

This is on TFL's dime, right? :D
