Do these really reduce copper fouling in rifle bores?

I'm planning to buy a Savage Mdl. 12BVSS in .223. Is there an advantage to using moly-coated bullets to break-in the barrel?

I'd like to hear from anyone with first-hand experience with these bullets.
 
I fire about 3,000 rounds of .223 in competition each year and about 1500 .308's just for fun. I moly-coat them all. You will find that in an older barrel or a factory production barrel or a barrel damaged by corosive ammo that the moly coated bullets will reduce copper fouling by about 75 per cent. If you have a match grade barrel that is super smooth inside with no throat erosion the moly coated bullet may be unecessary. In barrels that do foul quickly the moly coated bullet enables your barrel to stay accurate longer before the barrel starts to foul out and accuracy starts to deteriorate. Contrary to popular belief the moly coating in the bore does not attract moisture anymore than burt gunpowder does. I have experienced no rusting of the bore after using moly coated bullets. I have even shot in a rain storm on several occasions and the moly coating in the bore did not suck up the moisture and cause any rusting. Just be sure you do clean your barrel after shooting it. Moly will start to build up in the barrel and I generally like to clean it and the burnt power fouling out after a days shooting. I have a .308 bolt gun that used to take a week to clean after shooting about 80 rounds through it. After using moly coated bullets it now takes me only a day to clean it properly. This means getting all the powder and copper fouling out of the barrel.

Don't break it in with moly bullets - coating it will not speed the break-in process.

Sinclair has quit doing the moly thing - they decided that it promotes deterioration.

I am very curious about Sinclars findings. Where did you find this information? I would like to read more about this finding.
So far I have fired 7,500 rounds out of my Colt AR15 with moly coated bullets. Last weekend I installed a Jewell trigger and then proceeded to shoot 5 shots into one hole at 100 yards. The load was 26 grains of Ball C2. with a 53 grain Sierra match bullet. It does not look like my barrel has started to deteriorate yet. W.R.
 
Is your COLT really......

An AR15???.....if so, it has a chrome lined barrel...and moly won't affect it at all.
This subject is a can of worms..........
A LOT of top BR shooters stopped using it, a LOT still do.
Tactical Shooters stopped using it, and it's an up and down issue.
The only PROVEN benefit so far, has been the ability to shoot more rounds with less copper fouling.........
Period.
But that PLUS, has several downsides.....way too numerous to even start here.
Sinclair is already mentioned, add HART BARRELS to the list.....and that's ALL I got to say bout this subject.
