I have acquired quite a few rounds for my 222, and I have over a hundred moly coated Winchester ballistic tip rounds. My question is do I need to start with a sqeaky clean bore? Is is OK to mix them in with non coated bullets?? Any info on moly coated bullets would be greatly appreciated.

Who coated them? If the source was Winchester then it is Lubalox (Black Oxide) and not moly.. Mixing is not that big-a-deal.
If they are really Moly then yes, squeaky clean bore to start with and I would stay with moly and not mix.. ..But, (On-The-Other-Hand) once the barrel
Is good and burnished with moly, some people do start mixing…But, all copper has, needs, must be gone before returning to moly..

So they are not moly after all. The bullets are black so I assumed they were moly coated.

If they are black bullets with a grey polymer tip, then they are what winchester loads in their silvertip factory ammo and the coating is lubalux or lubalox and not moly.

OK, the casing is nickle plated, the bullet is black w/gray tip. They must be "lubalux", and I'll consider them fair game. Thank you.
