I'd like to modify a Romanian Dragunov-style stock to fit my Bulgarian Arsenal SLR-96 rifle.
I made up a new stock a few years ago, but it's strictly a prototype, with a lot of alterations and patches under the paint.
Unfortunately, I'm living in an apartment now, and all my shop equipment is gone, so I can't make a final version.
Here's what I'd like to know:
1. What's the length of the Romanian stock from the trigger to the butt pad?
2. I intend to alter the stock by cutting it down the line in the picture, and re-fit it to the milled SLR action.
Anybody know any reasons why this won't work?
Since It'll probably be painted, I can use epoxy to do some fill-in fitting.
Here's a picture of the current prototype stock:
This is TOTALLY home made, including the butt pad and the sling swivel.
Here's the stock I want to use.
It's from Centerfire Systems.
The line is about where I plan on cutting it down so it'll seat on the SLR receiver:
Advice is welcome.
