Modern Holsters and the Quick Draw

I have very broad shooting intrests and included is CAS and Black Powder shooting.
I wondr?
When did "they" ( the Holster Manufacturers) do away with the Calvery-Style Twist Draw?
It was fast and a clean way to draw a long barreled revolver. A 4" would be an ideal canidate for a quick Twist Draw!
Does it give an opponent too much advantage of grabbing your gun? Naw, your speed draw is more important.
So why do ya'll think?
I have NEVER seen a modern revolver carried as such!
Opnions?
Thanks!

One of the objections to the cavalry draw is the fact the muzzle sweeps across the body, a no-no in most contests.

As to speed, there is too much lost motion compared to a straight draw.

A fast draw was never a concern for holster makers. A holster was an accessory for carrying a revolver, nothing more. The fast draw and the holsters that go with it were a Hollyweird invention.
