I'm looking for a saddle ring kit for my 1974 Winchester "model 94".
I saw one for a 94/22 take-down model; but I don't think it will work on my gun.
Any help appreciated! thanks in advance.:D

The reciever is different, as well as the internals, I believe. The reason I say this is the location of the hammer pin on models with a saddle ring vs without.

Maybe you could cut the head off the hammer pin and have the saddle ring welded on, but I don't think it'd be very functional.

The hammer screw is in the same location on both. The saddle ring has its own threaded hole.

+1 - And, not every post-64 Winchester 94 has the saddle ring prep threaded hole in the LH side of the receiver.

AFAIK, the only ones with the prep actually were issued with saddle rings (Trapper Model, most of the commemoratives, etc).

I was hoping for a quickie fix, not gonna tap the receiver.
I'll just put a standard set of swivels on it, I was thinking of a single point sling,
but nixed that idea when someone said "tap the receiver". thanks anyway fellas:D

It's not collectible, so D/T'in the receiver sidewall won't hurt it's value.

and, it'll look nice, too (my 1977 Trapper .30-30) :D
