I have a NIB Winchester 1886 take down model ( new production ) I would be interested in trading even across the board for a Browning model 71 reproduction high grade. Thanks Randy ( fatesailer@hotmail.com )

Hey Randy,

My grandfather had a model 71 original in .348 Win ( i think that was the only cal they made them in). Anyhow my uncle has the gun now. He killed the biggest buck anybody in our family has w/ it in 1967. A 10 point PA whitetail.

I think the .348 is a superior cartridge to the .45-70. Assuming you reload, because they are tough to find factory.

Gives you better ballistics, than the venerable .45-70.

Both are capable of killing any North American Big Game at moderate ranges of 150-175 yards and under.
