Model 700 bolt in a model 722 Remington?

My old 722 extractor and ejector are getting weak. I notice that my 700 SA bolt fits, cocks and fires in the 722 (by "fires", I mean the firing pin is released when the trigger is pulled). Does anyone know if a 700 SA for a .223 will function properly in the 722 (in .222 Remington). If so, what need to be done to assure safe operation? I ask because replacement 700 SA bolts in .223 are available from Midway.
