Model 70 shadow vs. Model 70

Recently ordered a stock for a Model 70 post 64. My gun is evidently a Model 70 Shadow. It has no opening in the bottom for a hinged plate or anything. I didn't know that the regular model 70 is different than the Shadow.The new stock came in today and it has a large opening in the bottom. Did I goof up? Thought a Model 70 would be a Model 70. Heavy duty tuition here if this is my mistake. Google images of the model 70. Other Shadows are like mine. :confused:

Is it possible to buy a floor plate (like a Williams Hinged Floor Plate) and use it? The trigger guard of course is the one manufactured for the blind mag, so even though the holes line up in the action, will the Williams floor plate work in this scenario?
 
Update on this snafu

I called the stock maker, Richard's Microfit, and they will do a straight across trade. I send them the stock back, they send me the one I need. I enclosed 30 peso for postage and handling, and feel very lucky. Nice folks. It really pained me that the stock was not the right one, because the laminate was so beautiful. Can't wait to get the correct stock and get started finishing and fitting it to the action.:D
 
Richards has taken good care of me over the years. They may be slow, but they do a good job of customer service. Glad they took care of you.
 
Never heard of the Shadow.
My rifle is a Win. 70 Ranger. No floor plate either. The gun is pretty 'plain jane' in appearance.
With right ammo I load myself, it prints .69" groups.

The Winchester Model 70 Shadow is their "controlled push feed" with the blind magazine and synthetic stock. The action is basically CRF, but uses a little spring-loaded extractor rather than a full-length claw extractor.
