Model 57 S&W trade

I had a SKS and 1K of ammo in the paper for sale. Guy calls and asks if I would be intrested in a Mod 57 S&W 41 mag. Sure I'll look at it....now I own it.:) Straight up! I'm tickled. Has a little blueing wear, 6" bbl.

Did I do alright?

If you bought that SKS back when

they were a $100, you did great! Even if you've got around $200 or so in, you still did good.:)

Victor,
I had $190.00 in SKS and ammo. I,ve had a few 41's Its a great caliber. I had one with an 8 3/8 bbl once. Dang, that thing was accurate! Like an idiot I sold it.... :(

Yep, Reaper you did fine; provided you had an LEO
friend run the serial of the S&W model 57 thru
N.C.I.C.; before making the trade!  :D I
kind'a like to know what I'm trading for; and who
I'm trading with. :)

6" square butt? You had $190 in the SKS & ammo?

You came out at least $60 to the good, then.

If you were to do that in Northern Virginia, you'd be ahead by at LEAST $110, but a LOT more likely that you'd be ahead by closer to $200.

Att: Reaper

Sorry, but an illegal bill of sale with a fake name won't
do you much good! Most likely, the other party
was just as curious; cuz he would not want to trade
a stolen firearm to someone that might be an LEO,
now would he? I think your trade will be fine; I was
just messing with your mind a bit there my friend!:D

The S&W model 57 .41 magnum is a wonderful firearm.
It was the first "big bore" handgun that I owned; and
the very first one that I ever handloaded for! As
a matter of fact, I perfer it to the S&W model 29/629
.44 magnum. The way I like to tell people is like
this, " it's 75% more powerful than a .357 magnum,
and 25% less powerful than a .44 magnum!" Those
stat's could be wrong, as they were made up by me;
but at least its worth a laugh. Enjoy-Have Fun-Be Safe,
And Shoot Straight!

*FootNote- If you handload, be sure and try Sierra's
170 grain JHC bullet and W-W 630P (ball powder),
starting at about 1300 fps velocity! Sorry, but I forget
the correct powder charge to obtain these result's?
