Model 50 v Gold Hunter

I have a Winchester Model 50, 12gauge. LOVE IT. I took her out this weekend and was reminded how solid she is. That said my dad wants to trade me his browning Gold Hunter 12g for the model 50. I can't really protest bc he gave me the 50 to begin with. Anyone have input on the gold hunter and what to expect? Mostly used for skeet range but possibly in the field later.

Well, we made the trade. The Gold Hunter is a beautiful shotgun, I look forward to the range. I broke her down, went over every inch and all is in order. The only thing I can't figure out is the lever on the non-breech side- it says "M.C" with a small lever. Manual is silent to what this is. Any thoughts?

This is the magazine cutoff. It allows you to change a round out of the Chamber without loading a round from the magazine. In Brownings advertising, they make reference to being able to change from a duck to a goose round, if the opportunity arose, without having to completely empty your magazine.
