Its an airweight frame. They were blued, but it was a different finish formula because of the airweight alloy frame is harder to blue. The same is true for a Colt Cobra (airweight Detective Special). Its just about black. Its not esp durable either. If you look at it a certain way, the barrel and cylinder appear a different shade. This is because the cylinder and barrel are steel even in an airweight. There have been alloy cylinders, but these were found to be unsafe. I have no idea about the new scandium / titanium alloy stuff that they have now. My interests are with the vintage arms.
