Model 36 re-blue question.....

I recently purchased a Smith & Wesson Model 36 that appears to be in great shape except for some rust spots on the trigger guard. The owner said he had purchased the gun in 1980, never shot it and just put it in his desk draw for all these years until he recently retired. Anyway, the gun has no holster wear, it is tight, perfect bore, and the bluing is 100% except for the fairly significant rust spots on the trigger guard. Is it possible to have a gunsmith polish and re-blue the trigger guard area only without having to do the entire gun? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Art G.
