I recently replaced the grips of my s&w model 1950. Now waiting to get my Tyler grips in the mail. And I highly suggest purchasing a light box for taking gun pictures. The improvement of picture quality for a cheap piece of gear is amazing.

I did something similar with a Colt 1917. Looks like yours, but I bob'd the hammer spur and shortened the grip-frame. It's my "Woods Gun".
