I am looking at building an AR in the near future. Doing a lot of pricing, etc. Does anyone have feedback on Model 1 Sales. They seem to have good prices and a big selection of options. Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks.

youll here some negatives about them on the internet but my only experience has been positive. I bought a 1in7 twist stainless 16 in barrel some years ago for a project gun i was building. that gun will shoot 1/2 moa all day long.

I did a build for a cop friend and used them. When I ordered they said 2 to 3 weeks. After that I checked on their site and they said 4 to 5 weeks. After that passed and I gave the customer one of my rifles I called and was told 6 to 8 weeks. It was delivered at 8 weeks and 3 days. The quality was fine and it's now my wife's favorite AR.

I have two of their uppers for my Bushy lower. Both are accurate and the quality seems very good.

When dealing with them you must know exactly what you want and write it down to the smallest detail. You see, their "customer service" consists of filling orders and shipping them out. They will NEVER return an e-mail, a phone call or a letter. EVER!

I have used them for a few years and I have always received good quality parts. If you order a kit or an upper you will need to tighten and re-stake the gas keys because they don't do it well enough, but other then that, I have no complaints about what I have received. Just understand YOU must know what you want exactly because they won't even talk to you about such things as a rule.

I've bought several items from Model "1" Sales. I generally get my stuff from them at a gun show in Indianapolis. I haven't had any problems with the uppers and other items I purchased. In fact, I plan to buy some more stuff from them later on next summer.

well apparently if you go over to M4CARBINE.net you'll find that model 1 is a dirty word but then again so is RRA, DPMS, Bushmaster, Armalite and just about anyone but colt and LMT.

I have a 9mm model1 build on a DPMS lower. it's been pretty problematic but most of it centered around magazines. they dont use great parts, IE cromed barrels and bolt carrier groups but they are an alright choice for a first time AR builder.

I would however, recommend palmetto state armory builds over a M1 if you are planning on a standard 5.56/223 rifle. they are the closest thing to milspec you can find for under 900 and you can build one for under 600 from buttstock to barrel.
