The Oregon chapter of the Tyranny Response Team will annouce its formation on Sunday in Portland. Interested parties should arrive at Pioneer Courthouse Square at 10am to meet at the corner of Sixth and Morrison. Look for the red, white, and blue balloons. No cammies, holsters, etc., common sense prevails.

The misguided marchers will be arriving at the square at 11am. Boy are they in for a surprise. Local gun groups are planning related events. Tell your friends!

Well, you are not going to beleive this. I spent a few days prior to the TRT-Oregon countermarch seeing if I get a few local people interested in attending. I took some heat, but stood my ground calmly and traded facts for emotional arguments against guns.

I'm somewhat well known here in my area because I have managed two small businesses during the 10 years I've lived here. Sort of the guy that most people know by face if not by name. I also live across from a local bank, so everyone sees me in my yard with my dogs.

Which explains how they knew who's tires to slash on Sunday morning.

Needless to say, I spent Sunday taking care of that so I could make it to work that night (I work graveyard). I missed the march. I'm not going to report this because I'm not giving the idiots a chance to read about their handiwork in the local paper.

Anyway, now I am more determined to work on this than ever before. I don't have much time or money, but I have the fighting spirit the Marines instilled in me, and I am very clear on how I feel about the second amendment and our current political climate. I'm not a hothead, but I am persistent.

I already belong to the NRA, GOA, and SAF. I write my representatives often, and I submit letters to the editor for the Oregonian. I suppose that if I have one good skill, it is that I can write pretty well.

That is all fine, but we need to be seen. The news reported that only 40 people showed up against a crowd of 2000 MMM demonstrators. Either they lied, or we need more concerned people on our side.

If my story makes you angry, please weave some of that anger into your efforts to save our rights. I don't want pity, just freedom.

next it will be:

"we slashed the tires for the children"
then
"we threw rocks for the children"
then
"we punched them for the children"
then
"we killed them for the children"

...and they will be quite secure that they actually did the right thing.
