MMC vs XS

I am trying to decide which set of ghost rings to go with. I am going to get a set up with a banded tritium front sight. I have yet to see either of these in person. From the pictures and descriptions, I prefer the MMC rear ghost ring. It appears to be lower profile and more robust than the XS. What concerns me is that on the MMC pistol sights they use PT tritium which I have found to be crap in the past. Do they use the same tritium for their shotgun sights? The XS rear sight appears to be really high. How close in height are the banded front sights from both companies? Are they close enough that I could use a MMC rear with a XS front?

I prefer the LPA Sights. They have good adjustments and interchangable ghost rings and front sight bead. LPA makes the "factory" sights on a large number of companies shotguns and pistols. A new rifle looks likely in the near future.
