MMC sights for 1911

Has anybody had MMC install their adjustable night sights on your 1911 style pistol? I'm thinking about sending my slide to these folks and wonder if anyone has experience with their machine work. Thanks and stay safe.

I have them on my Officers ACP. I have the bar/dot tritium sights. Very nice. Good sight picture. I am happy.

I have their "black" sights on my everyday, carry more than my wallet, 1911A1. My gunsmith installed them, so I can't comment on how well MMC does the machine work to install them. I like 'em. And MMC have been good people to deal with. http://www.mmcsight.com for those who want to take a look at the sights.

I had them put on a set on my kimber compact a few weeks ago and am very happy with them. They did an excellent job,in fact they did them while I waited at their shop in about 30 minutes and I was on my way. I would gladly recomend them. sj

Hello. A couple of friends have had them installed on their Kimbers and HPs by MMC and the work was fine. The sights, while not as easy to adjust as some, do a very decent job, hold zero, and are very tough. One fellow has put over 12,000 rounds of .45 through his 1911 with such sights with no problems. Best.

I have the MMC adj on my Commander slide. I highly recommend them if you are prone to shoot a wide range of bullet weights and velocities since you can zero for any load. I cannot comment on the machine work either as mine were done by my gunsmith.

The dots are done by IWI who make P-T nightsights. They are intentionally done at 66% of the brightness of the front sight for more contrast. If you have your rears done in color, like my orange ones, the dimness is more pronounced since all colors are less bright than green.

I had then do a complete custom installation of a set of night sights onto a Makarov of mine. As far as the quality of the machine work is concerned, I am extremely pleased. As they do not market a set of sights for my pistol, one of their rear S&W units was matched to (I believe) a Colt front. The charge to install was $85, I was going to have one of the toolmakers employed with me do the work but by the time I bought the cutters I wasn't really too far ahead. I have no regrets, the machining is flawless and they made excellent choices in matching what they produce to my slide. The sights just plain look good.

I am also very pleased with the quality of the sights. The rear elevation clicks are very definite & precise. These are the first night sights I have ever owned, so I cannot compare the intensity of the dots to anything else but they seem easy enough to pick up in my sight picture. While not bulky, the sights look sturdy.

Give them a call - they will be happy to discuss the project with you. I did most of my planning with a guy by the name of Tom Graham (you might recognize that name from some gun mag articles), but again mine was a custom install from the ground up. I think my slide was in their shop just under 1 week.

I sent them the slide from an HK Tactical and it was returned with a ding on the rear of the slide-it was tiny, but even tiny is not good on a $900 gun. The rear was fine, the front was noticeably dimmer, even dimmer than several other pairs of 3-4 year old meps and trijicons I have on other guns. I called them and they sent a new front sight, it was every bit as dim as the first. I called again and told them I wasn't satisfied and they did take them back. MMC sights themselves are good, PT's capsules are not. MMC's customer service is good, but I'd rather have a good product and not even think about customer service.

I've just ordered adjustable meprolights for the full size USP from Arizona Gun Runners for $101, MSRP is $155. I have never been disappointed with meps in the past, from now on I'll stick with them.
