Missouri bullets

I would like to try some of their Hi-Tek coated bullets in my Makarov. First has anyone used the Hi-Tek bullets and what are your thoughts?
The big question is what load data do you follow? Do you load as lead or plated?
i know I'll have to work up loads but would like to have a safe place to start.

thanks

I have been using Missouri cast bullets both with their standard lubricating material and their hi tech coating. The coated bullets leave much less residue in the pistol (the residue is mostly vaporized lubricant from the groove in the bullet) Seem to lead the barrel about the same & seem to shoot a bit lower.
Their cost is a bit more than the standard bullets. Accuracy is the same.
Missouri is a great company to deal with. Great service, good products & fast shipping.

Thanks, I can't find any info for loading the Hi-Tek. I cast and pc coat most of my calibers and use lead data for loading. Do I do the same with the Hi-Tek? Also these require no lube right?

thanks again

Thumbs47,

Load and shoot like lead. The core material is cast lead bullet, and the coating should be looked at as the lube, being that it's much softer.

I've shot about 20,000 missouri bullet company Hi Tek coated bullets. I used to have issues with lube accumulating in my bullet seating and crimping dies. No more problems since using the coated bullets. They work great. I've seen zero leading. I'm shooting cowboy action, so my loads are on the light side. :D

Yeah that's why I started powder coating my cast bullets. I could not keep them from leading everything I shot them through. Like you guys are saying much cleaner also.

Similar to plated bullets, I can up the powder charges a little beyond lead loads toward jacketed loads, but not as much as with plated. Generally lead loads are the starting point, and every firearm and situation is different.

The only difference I have noted is that there is no smoke form the lube like they use on their hard cast bullets. (sometimes I prefer the smoke though :))

I'm using the following MBC bullets;

165g 30-30 coated
124g Ball 9mm coated
148g DEWC 38 SPCL lubed
158g SWC 38 SPCL lubed
230g Ball .45ACP

They all shoot great! I'm still developing my 30-30 load but its a crimping issue on my end, not the bullet.

Quality has been excellent.

No fault of the bullets, the short cylindrical portion on the bullet may be difficult to keep seated straight. It happens with jacketed, too.
Lyman makes their "M" expander die.I think Hornady dies use the same tech. Its not a funnel bell so much as it is necking a short length of the case up enough to accept the bullet start.
