Mission Impossible 2 movie gun question???

Has anybody here seen Tom Cruise's new film MI:2. I was wondering if the guns Ethan Hawk(Cruise's character) uses are Beretta's and if so what model/caliber?

thanks Cyric13

I just got back from watching it. He does use Berettas, but I don't know exactly which ones. Does he use an HK USP at the very end? What gun does the antagonist use?

I just got back from watching the movie. Tom Cruise's character used Beretta 92 Elite model while the BG used Spinx 9mm. In the last part it was H&K USP (hey guys, this is all a guess)

Just saw it, I figured their would be posts on this one. Quite a variety of weapons. The BG had I believe the wonder finish CZ 75 or one of its clones. TC has a Beretta in the lab shootout b4 jumping out the man made vent in the wall. I almost wonder if the gun in the sand was the new Beretta, probably not though. The BG's in the chase seens seem to have something glock like, very squared of end. Pretty good flick.

I thought the guy with the bloody pinky was carrying the new Vector CP1 ? The profiles of the two pistols are somewhat similar, anyway.

FWIW, the pistol in the sand at the end looked like a USP full-size. Hey, they work in sand, right?

And where can I find those bullets which will flip over a car and make it explode? (And how about an SUV that goes faster than a sport-bike...)

Yup, TC had a pair of Berettas. I wasn't sure exactly what the main bad guy had. Possibly a CZ. Could it have been an EAA Witness? In the last scene, the same bad guy lost his gun in a fight. When TC picked it up, it was clearly an HK USP. It wasn't clear whether it was a full size or a compact. Jared

An SUV that is FASTER THAN A BIKE?

I WANT ONE!

i just got back from seeing it.

Cruise had 2 berettas a 92FS and a 92G Elite. he used the elite more and thats what he had at the end.

the gun he kicks out of the sand (i couldn't do that on a bet) looked like an HK USP compact but it might have been a full size.

I have no idea what the gun the BG had. it looked kinda like a CZ or a Witness by the position of the safety and slide catch but the muzzle end was to squared off to be a CZ-75 or anything like that.

the guy with the shortened finger looked like he had a Vector CP-1. it looked too small to be the HK VP70Z.

all i know is i wish i could do some of that kung foo Cruise did and i wish i could ride a motercycle like that. i doubt there are many people in the world who could go on just the frong wheele and shoot someone at the same time without falling off.

some of the shooting he did was very unrealistic. he did things like jumping in the air, flipping, and shooting at the same time. also he shot down SUVs and on one of them he kept shooting at it after it already started to flip over and over and over and over.

from the preview it looked like it would be all shooting and have no plot like the first one did. it had a lot more shooting but not as much as i expected.

From what I could see, it looked as though as at least one of TC's Berettas was a Centurion. The main BG had a Sphinx, and his asst. definitely had the Vektor. I could see the safety protruding from the front of the trgger guard, as well as the "blended" style of the rear sight. The pistol from the sand looked like a fulll-size USP.

i thought it was a Centurion also but at the end when the BG picked it up and was about to shoot Cruise you could easily see the brigadier slide. the Elites also have the shortened barrels like the Centurions.

Taco is correct, the BG gun is a full size Spinx 2000 9mm two-tone. I liked the movie, at least there was reloading.

Hunt had Beretta 92 Brigarier
The "BG" had Sphinx 2000 (Switzerland made CZ copy. Very nice gun).
The "assistant BG" had HK P9S. It was not CP1, because you couls see slide mounted safty/decocker.
The "junior BG's" had bunch of Skorpion machine pistols.
HK USP was very obvious in the last sceene of the film.

No exotic weapons.

BTW, during the fight in the lab, Hunt fired
23 rounds out of that Beretta of his with out reloading, that reloades, fired 8 rounds and proceeded to reload again. :-)
The BG had one of those guns that have speciall magazines that are capable of producing ammo out of the air. They never need reloading.

Where can I learn to fire pistol in rapid fire from a bike, while not looking where I am shooting and going 100+ mph and still hit what I want???

Nice moovie though :)

I also thought Ethan had a Beretta Cougar in the lab scene. Deffinately a USP compact in his hand in the last scene, could see the bobbed hammer, however I bekieve they may have used a full size for him to kick up from the sand.

"Pinky" had the Vector CP-1. While there was not a very good shot of it - there was two instances where you could see 1. The muzzle and ONLY the CP-1 has that muzzle. 2. the Hammer is fully inclosed making it look as if its striker fired. Only the CP-1 has that look.
The Vector was on the cover of one of the bigger gun rags not too long ago - dig up that issue and take a look.

Sheesh - next some one will be saying he had a Sig!

Along with the SUV that can outrun a Triumph Triple Speed, I'd like to get some lessons on how to spin around in circles on the bike and shoot people at the same time. Just so I can say I know how. :D

Also, did anyone catch the scene where the camera shows the BG's gun from two different sides? They show the right side and then the camera switches to another angle and they show the left side. But, the gun features are identicle on either side. Slide stop, saftey, and mag release. Maybe a reverse camera shot!?

Cruise used two Berettas (a 92 and I thought a compact/Centurion but it could have been an elite-there was no barrel protruding from the slide).

Main BG used a Sphinx 2000. You can tell it's not a regular CZ clone by the thicker frame forward of the trigger group (yes, I know there's technical term for it). The BG uses the weapon throughout the movie but has an HK USP compact as well that he drops when he hits the sand. This is the one that Cruise kicks up and nails him with.

Secondary BG may have a Vector. Guess I'll have to see the movie again to be sure. Darn! :)

Slightly off the beaten path question, but does anybody know what bike he was riding? Actually what bikes, both the red and black?

Albert

twoblink,

Cruise was riding a Triumph Speed Triple (a law professor acquaintance of mine has one) and the BG was also riding a Triumph that I believe was a Daytona 955.
