Minute Men/citizens watching for illegals under fire?

"Citizens watching for illegals under fire" was a headline I saw on Fox news earlier this afternoon briefly. It was part of a headline and then they moved on to talk about that American rancher who had is property stolen and given to illegals from El Salvador a few months back. Anyone know anymore about it?I skimmed Fox's website and couldn't find anything.

I just read that in the San Antonio Express today while at my parents' house. If I recall correctly, the ranch owner in Arizona was accused of rounding up illegals crossing through his property and even reportedly kicked a woman. I think he was charged with illegal detention. He was also faced with a firearms violation, but the article didn't mention why. It was reported that he had an assault rifle, but that's vague for a news writer. And I don't remember if it was a seperate case, but in the same article, it stated that a ranch owner lost his property to a South American familiy, who turned around and sold it.

I can't find the story, but it's here somewhere:

Hmmmmmmm......

....sounds more to me like a far far away from an urban center legend...AND, if in fact a rancher lost his property to foreign nationals, in all likelihood, there was a good legal reason for it...these minute boys need to stop hittin' the "sauce" so hard...leave the cowboys and Indian games to the pros from Dover.

There seems to be a lesson

Apparently any action toward illegal invaders from the Southern Border by American land owners is not advised unless you own a good bulldozer and there are no witnesses.

Texas Rangers even in the earlier part of the 20th century have taken wets
close to the Rio Grande and told them to make a run for the river and Mexico and if they could dodge the bullets and make it to the water, they were home free.

No this sounded like something that happened today (as in 11/24/2006) not to border patrolmen, but to citizens watching the border for illegals (like the minutemen) It sounded like some illegals opened fire on them. I didn't get the whole story, I flipped on the tv right in the middle of the report/interview

The part about the rancher who had is property stolen a while back came up in the discussion with some lady who is part of some immigration reform organization just citing one more example (including the incident to day of citizens being fired upon on the border) of how the U.S. government is more concerned with not offending illegals or Mexico than the rights and lives of Americans.

Well....it appears that....

....justice was served...armed convicted felon out of control and in possession of weapons....violation of human rights....just like the loss of liberty and property by the KKK and the aryan nation creeps when they are convicted by a jury of their peers for human rights violations, these minutemen creeps got what they deserved.;)

Is it that simple? I see two different stories from two different links. 1) evil "racist" rancher and company who hates and beats poor little spanish speaking immigrants who just want to come here and work for pennies to send back to mexico (or el salvador) 2) American rancher fed up with federal government not protecting the borders of his country and his land and does the best he can to stop illegal invaders (or immigrants if you prefer) who commonly kill cattle, poison dogs to silence them, break into ranch houses and commit theft et al.

Personally, I find ANY case that has anything to do with Morris Dees and his Southern Poverty Law Center HIGHLY questionable.
But, for the sake of argument, suppose the rancher did use excessive force and beat the illegals, I don't see how stealing his property and giving it to them (who break the law) is serving justice. Putting him in jail for excessive force maybe, but not rewarding illegals and forever stealing his land.

BUT! It sounds like that subject was beat to death on several other threads. MY ORIGINAL QUESTION IS WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY TO PROMPT THE "CITIZENS WATCHING FOR ILLEGALS UNDER FIRE" HEADLINE ON FOX NEWS?
