Minor Repairs & Touchups Help

I need some advice on how to touch up some scratches and dings that my rifle has acquired on the stock and the barrel. I know most people would just ignore these but everytime I look at them it makes my stomach knot up...so here are a couple of pictures and any advice you can lend would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming it's not a collectible gun, you're down to a complete refinishing. You can try to touch up the blueing and sand and relaquer the damaged spots in the stock, but it will show.

The only thing I can think of to help you on the barrel is to have it bead blasted. The stock...well...put some gun chaps on it and don't worry about it! I know it is easier said than done but I am very OCD about my rifles. This is why I have put Gun Chaps on everyone I own

Steel wool with gun oil, then cold blue for the barrel.

Gunstock oil or danish oil or Old English touch-up on the stock.

You'll see them if you look, but the won't be glaring.
