Can't find any distributors with this rifle in stock.

What's the deal?

Maybe Ruger started building SR1911s on every machine?

I've got one that is nearly new in box that I may be willing to part with. Stainless with a 5 and a 20 Ruger mag.

I just saw one last week, in my living room. An old Army buddy brought one to my house for deer hunting. I watched him shoot a nice buck with it at about 70 yards. Frontal shot, low neck, then went the length of the buck and exited near the rear. Russian HP. Deer dropped so fast that I suspect he somehow hit the spine.

Rifle itself was a nice compact size. I find those synthetic stocks a bit slippery feeling. And noisy when they push up against sticks and brush in the woods. Finally, I really don't like the Ruger muzzle device. Just a cosmetic thing. If it was my rifle and the primary use was going to be hunting, I would remove it and get a thread protector instead. You would actually end up with a better looking rifle that was a bit shorter to boot.

Getting to hold and shoot one convinced me to put it on my future buy list. Nice rifle, especially for the money.

I really like them a lot. I know AR-15s areto good at certain things. But I really don't want one. I only want the tactical model of the mini for the heavy barrel.

Having a hard time finding a tactical mini-30. My LGS has a mini-14 tactical. Might end up w that while I wait for the 30. Goes against my one rifle idea but would be nice to have the two calibers. Then add a 308 and I consider myself well rounded. Been looking at M1A scout or scout squad. First though, would like this mini-30 tactical.

I've been waiting to see one of these in person, and also hoping they'll offer a 6.8 SPC in tactical or target or both as well.

I noticed Davidson's received several about a week ago, but they show out of stock now. I do not believe the Tactical Version is made in Stainless. I have a stainless Mini-30 with the new heavier barrel, but it's not a Tactical.

Cool old guy at local gunshop was telling me about his. I think he bought it from the store he works at. It's called Turner's and there are several locations in Southern California. Not sure if they do internet sales. Here is there # if you want to give then a ring. (909) 388-1090.

Why no SKS/AK? Just not my thing. Kind of like the AR15. They're all good though.

Re: mini-30 tactical...going to LGS tomorrow to see what he can get. Fortunate I've got about 5 good LGS's so will see what I can find.
