Hello
Directing this post toward people that have been shooting and carry the glock19 as a primary weapon, and have now purchased a sig sauer p320 in 9mm.

Have you been swayed to carry the sig p320 as your primary weapon or will you stay with the clock 19?

Please expand on this as to why you might remain with the g19 or not?

It's a very specific question I don't think will apply to a lot of us. At least not to me, I own neither, and thus carry neither.

Good luck choosing, though. I'd recommend carrying the one that you shoot better and can carry comfortably. I'm sure both are great options.

I don't carry either of them myself. The question is directed towards the people that do. The reason is I have a few friends that are/were real big fans of the glock 19, and have now switched to the sig p320.

If you have friends that have the Sig, the best thing to do is go take it for a test drive and see how it shoots in your hands. There is no substitute for actually shooting a particular firearm.

As for the Glock 19, I do own one and it is a great carry gun but I am just not real crazy about the grip, especially if I need it in a hurry. I much prefer my M&P and carry it.

I already own the sig p320 two of them and 3 g19's I'm not asking for advice I ran this poll to simply find out how many people that were glock 19 fans and most likely carried them and when they bought and or started shooting the sig p320 decided they liked it better than the clock 19 and decided to start carrying that.

I am still myself a 1911 guy. Right now I carry a springfield professional.
I have been shooting and carrying a weapon now for 40+ yrs.

Owned both, multiples of both actually. Kept the Glock. The Glock 19 is a bit shorter for the same capacity. Not a lot but I noticed it. More so for me I found I shot the Glock better at speed. In slow fire the P320 was hard to beat, but my follow ups were notably faster to maintain the same accuracy with the Glock. Glocks have never "fit" my hand overly well, but I haven't found a striker yet that I shoot as well overall. I also find the grip angle handy when shooting in CQB positions where I'm using my chest to brace one handed shots.

All that said if someone told me I had to carry a P320 I wouldn't throw a fit.

I did not vote as I seldom carry and have never owned a G19.

I do own a P320 compact 9mm and do plan to use it as a carry weapon.

I have certainly shot Glock 19s and other Glock models enough to know that I preferred the P320 by a wide margin.

The Glock slide is a bit thinner which can make it a little easier to carry. The lower bore axis also decreases the overall pistol height a bit for any given magazine capacity. But I hate the grip angle and the feeling that I am holding a 2x4 in my hand. What's more, the damn finger grooves don't fit me.

The G17 and G19 both have three finger grooves on the grip but those on the G17 are obviously wider. Does Glock intend the G19 to only be used by smaller people? Or do they think that people's hands naturally shrink when they are shooting a compact pistol? And, I'm sorry but a pistol that costs $500 or more should not come with cheap plastic sights better suited for a toy water pistol.

Although the P320 is not quite as compact, it has a grip that fits my hand very comfortably and it points much more naturally than a Glock. The trigger is better and I was able to buy one with night sights for no more than I would have paid for a new Gen 4 Glock 19. What's more, with the P320 compact I was able to buy a subcompact grip module that works just fine with the compact slide and barrel. A small subcompact grip module has no rail, a rounded trigger guard and is, of course shorter so it conceals much more easily. A subcompact grip module and two subcompact 9mm mags set me back a total of $105. And the longer compact sized mags work fine with the subcompact grip.

I own a G19, and have fired a P320 on a few occasions. I had contemplated getting one, but decided against it. I am slightly more accurate with the Glock, my follow-ups are faster, and the Glock accessories and mags are just so much cheaper and more available. The 19 is also slightly smaller and easier to conceal. Plus, the 19 compliments my other carry guns well, a 17 and 43.

SIG P320

I have both. Just got Sig P 320 Compact. Wow. One hell of a gun. Its my primary carry now. Totally in my book and opinion and I have carried the Glock 19 4th gen 2 years. Sig got it right. Grand slam home run with me. Thanks Sig.
