Minaska Bandit Game Callers

I looked on Cabelas website and checked the reviews on different callers. One common complaint was that the manufacturers claim 100 or 200 yard range for the remotes but in reality they were only good to 20 yards or so. That kind of performance won't work for me. Cabelas doesn't list Minaska on their site and I can't find any info on them so I thought I would try here.

I don't have any experience with Minaska but I would highly recommend the Foxpro Scorpion. Check it out. 100 sounds, remote, small/light, crystal clear...what's not to like?

Minaska

I have owned 2 different bandits models for the last 3 years. I have been very pleased with the units and they are great to deal with in the event of a problem . My understanding is that cabela's is not a current dealer for them ??,but at one time they were selling the older designed model Bandit. The remote operates great and I use it regular at 100 yds and in open areas and it will function futher but my set ups are usually approx 100 yds.. I'm very pleased with my unit the utimate One . I started out with the original bandit and Minska was good enough to allow their customers to upgrade to the newer improved designed units for very reasonable $$ . They hold 100 sounds in compact flash card and Minska supplies software for arranging sounds and a lifetime of free sounds . I have no motive or interest other than being a very satisfied customer of their product and oustanding service.
Hope it helps
Frank

Thanks for the replies. Hey Crackerjack do you like the decoy that comes with the ultimate one? I'm thinking of getting the basic Bandit with remote and adding the decoy. 30 sounds should be plenty I would think. I only want it to try and get coyotes. But later I might use it for crows or possibly deer. Do you get plenty of volume with these?

I have a FoxPro 532b and I HAD a Minaska Big Country Bandit. There are a lot of good things to be said about the Bandit, but I happened to get a lemon. I sent is back a couple of times and the company was more than willing to work with me, but it never worked right. The first problem was the range dropped off due to a faulty chip. Next problem was the battery life which was never nearly as long as a Minaska claimed. Again, I thing it was just my unit. After Minaska fixed the range problem I decided to sell it an bought another FoxPro. This time the Scorpion. I still have the older FoxPro for backup in case the Scorpion fails for any reason. What I really like about the Scorpion is the remote. It has an illuminated digital display. I no longer have to refer to a separate list of calls and enter the corresponding number into the remote.
