And of course, we've all heard about the Colorado concealed-carrier who
was attacked by a vice-president of the Bell Campaign at a Charleton
Heston speech.

NOW I understand why the anti-gunners are the way they are! They think
that everyone in the world is just like them -- violent, dangerous people
who will assault anyone who crosses them. They know in their heart of
hearts that if *they* were allowed to carry a gun, they would leave a long
trail of dead bodies in their wake, and they think everyone else is the
same way. Thus, in their minds the only way to insure everyone's safety
from the violent outbursts that they are prone to is to make sure that
nobody is armed.

Indeed, I've had people say that very thing to me, among them some of my
coworkers.

Now that we've identified the core malady, how do we work to change that?
Any ideas?

Eagle-eyes...
Please find the article. TFL encourages posting of full articles for this very reason.

DC- The eagle eye is right ( see my post in the general forum) The local newspaper has run two articles this week on her. This lady lives in Radcliff KY and planned a shin dig in E-town tonight.(see my other post to see how it turned out :) ) I forget her name and have thrown the papers out. This story is true and I will stake my name on it. ( or at least if what you read in the paper is true :) ) This is not a big paper and may not be on the web.

Hope this helps

PLEASE find the papers and type it in by hand if you can. I know that feels like it takes forever but I've done it too.
I NEED to see the rest of this!

*sniff* This poor woman. *sniff* Life is hard and fraught with stress. *sniff*

And what a mean bad judge! *sob* That sounds like a restraining order. *sniff* How... insensitive. How punitive. A little anger management training and this poor abused woman will be right as rain!

And Eagle-Eyes--do you remember any details? Did she attack her daughter?!? Sounds crazy for such a vocal "mom" but I wouldn't put anything past the irrational.

Here it is guys...

Local mom marching on despite
criminal charges

By KATHERINE C. PEARL
Staff Writer

A Radcliff woman organizing a local
contingent to attend a May march
pushing for tougher gun laws has had
a run-in with the law herself.

But Diane Stacy, whose efforts to
recruit local participants for the
Million Mom March were the subject
of an article in Monday's paper, said
the criminal charges stemming from a
December arrest have no bearing on
her involvement.
"It's not relevant to what I'm trying
to do," she said.

Stacy vowed to continue working to
raise money and interest for a trip
to Washington, D.C., for the march.
Plans for a charity auction and
candlelight vigil scheduled for
Friday in downtown Elizabethtown
remain unchanged.

Those involved with the march on the
state level support her decision.
Rene Thompson, Kentucky coordinator
for the Million Mom March, said she
welcomes Stacy's participation.

"I don't think one (the charges) has
anything to do with the other (the
march)," Thompson said. "Diane Stacy
has never shown me to be anything but
an honest and honorable person, and I
am happy to work with her and happy
to know her." Stacy claimed the charges
she faces are unfounded.

Stacy said the events which resulted
in her Dec. 5 arrest occurred after
her oldest daughter returned home
from a neighbor's house intoxicated
and abused. Stacy said when she
attempted to take her daughter to
the hospital, the girl fled.

After a search for several hours,
Stacy said she and her husband
learned the girl was at a neighbor's
house and the police had been
summoned. She said when she tried to
claim her daughter, the Kentucky
State Police officer on the scene
asked her to leave.

An altercation ensued when Stacy
attempted to leave, she said.
Stacy said she drove to a friend's
house and then went to the Radcliff
police station to attempt to file
charges against the officer and was
taken in to custody.

She was charged with third- and
fourth-degree assault, third-degree
escape, disorderly conduct and
resisting arrest. Stacy was lodged
in the Hardin County Detention Center
and released the same day on a $2,500
bond.

As a condition of her bail, Stacy is
required to stay 500 feet from her
oldest daughter, according to court
records. She was uncertain when she
is slated to appear again in court.
Kentucky State Police officials
familiar with the case could not be
reached for comment.

Thanks for finding the article on-line. I found my old newspaper(or my wife did), but I type at a snail's pace. The news paper was the News Enterprise in E-town. This news paper's editor is very anti-gun. He does allow pro-gun editorials and I have written before, looks like I will write again. I plan to see how much and what the paper writes about the vigil. The newspaper has printed an article(read advertisement) on this twice in the last week. Both were top headline front page news.

Hope this helps

How sneaky... there's some white text on the white background saying "Before you sound off, make sure you have read our Guidelines." Do a little of that highlighting action to see it, right below the Clear/Send buttons.

Now, let's look at the guidelines (emphasis added) at http://www.newsenterpriseonline.com/guide.htm:

-No libelous comments will be printed.
-No personal attacks on anyone will be allowed.
-No name calling.
-No cursing.
-Comments of a general nature regarding the news and issues of the day are encouraged.
-No rumors or unsubstantiated allegations will be posted.
-No mention of business or store names will be allowed.
-No particular group or individual will be allowed to dominate the Online Hotline for their own political or personal agenda.
-Online Hotline will accept no political campaign-related comments. When an election nears, write a letter to the editor. But between elections, if you want to comment on the job the president, governor, mayor,
magistrates or any elected or appointed public official is doing, that’s fine. Those comments will be considered.
-Not all comments will be posted on The News-Enterprise Online Hotline, depending on the volume of comments and their content. Just because you write it doesn't mean it is guaranteed to be posted online.

n'other words, if they don't like what you have to say, they ignore it.

Just another kind caring compassionate lover of everything who cannot control her enthusiasm for doing good wherever possible. Her oldest daughter, obviously well adjusted from being around such a loving and understanding parent, was obviously a victim of some wrongdoers horrible influence. "Mommy" was only pretending to be an over emotional, unstable, nutcase when she tried to make it all right with the police. How dare they stand in the way of her caring. People just don't understand how hard it is to be a good "mommy...." *sniffle...sniffle*
