Millett Optics Worth The Time Or Money?

Been browsing different scope makers and had never taken a look at Millett. I have read an equal amount of good and bad from most of the top rated forums, along with the various customer reviews posted on the retail sites.

Any owners or users that have tried any Millett scopes? If so what's your take on them? :D

I've got a millet TRS-1

I think it's a great optic for the price and worth more then I paid. It's not a night force and I'm ok with that. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another for my next build. Good luck.

I have a Millet DMS-1. The illuminated reticle is not bright enough for regular daylight use. It doesn't matter any more as after giving the scope/rifle a good thump during a training course, the illumination is no more. The glass notably distorts at the edges. It is heavy....very heavy, for a 1-4x scope. I'll never get another Millet product based on experience with this one. It now sits on a .22LR carbine. An ACOG replaced the DMS-1 on my primary AR.

There's too much else offered in the price range that doesn't have the questionable reviews for me to consider Millett.

I have two TRS-1s and just got the LRS-1.

I really wanted new scopes that had a mil dot reticle and mil turrets.

While shopping for "mil-mil" scopes I came up with:

1. $250 for the BSA Tactical Mil-Mil
2. $305 for the Millet TRS-1
3. $470 for the Millet LRS-1
4. $ 900 for the Vortex Viper
5. On up into the promised land of Zeiss, Schmidt and Bender, Swarovski, etc.
(would be nice but having a kid in college and the vain search for the
winning lottery ticket precludes acquiring these).

I needed three scopes and could get three Millets for the price of one Vortex.
One day maybe will me able to move up and I can move my Millets onto the my kids' 22LR rifles.

In the mean time they work well enough at the range, survive the trip from the gun case to the firing line and back, and bright enough to see through during the times of day I shoot.

I did have a problem with one TRS-1 and Millet exchanged it for a new one.

I own a Millett TRS-1. I would rate it as an excellent buy for the money. I have it mounted on a 20" bull-barreled AR-15 (it does look huge on it with the sun shade installed) and can get MOA groups at 200 yards with it (download the "shooter iPhone app and let it tell you what adjustments to make - and it works beautifully). I will say when I initially bought it, the point of aim would move when you adjusted the parallax knob - a call to bushnell, and a week later, she was all better. If you want to use the illuminated reticle in low light, you'll be able to see the light source at the 11 o'clock position (it slightly washes out the target) but that only happens in very low light conditions - normal hunting hours it's fine
The things I like about it are the come-up lines (so you know where zero was), the mil-dot bar reticle, the illuminated reticle, and the bushnell customer service
It's an accurate scope and it didn't cost over $2000 like a night force
