Thinking about this for a 50 Beowulf upper I am getting. Anyone have opinions on this scope? I have several illum. reticle scopes from other manufacturers(Trijicon, Leupold), and am not opposed to spending money on scopes, but this one looked good, has 30mm tube, and is about half of what the other brands cost.

I bought a Millett 1" dot a few years ago for my CZ Kadet pistol. At first I thought my eyesight was going south, but my friend confirmed there was indeed a double image.

Sent it back, they confirmed the glass was installed wrong and sent me another, which has been fair. The rheostat is loose though but it still works.

Mine is made in China, if that makes any difference.

I have a Millett 1x-4x-24 DMS model, the one with the 30mm tube and the donut-and-dot illuminated reticle. I've used it mounted on an FAL, an AR in 5.56, and (currently) an AR in 6.8, and all I have to say is that I like it a whole lot. The reticle is wonderful for fast shooting up close and easily precise enough for anything out to 300 yards or so, the illumination always works, the glass is bright, the field of view is great, and the whole thing seems plenty sturdy. I've owned it for 18-plus months and so far I've used it only for tactical-type shooting, but I'm taking it pig hunting soon and have no qualms about that. For the price it's just outstanding.

Limey46, that's the exact model I'm talking about. I'm going to get it thanks to your stellar review. It is my understanding that they are good, but underrated scopes.

Thanks for the input.
