Military Wins Election

A thought just occurred to me. Florida is close and may have to be decided by the over 100,000 absentee ballots. Many of these are people serving in the military.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice if those votes won the election for Bush?

Once again our military saves our country from the forces of evil!

Geoff called it. Bush will take Florida, despite what the media said early on.

My in-laws personally got 12-14 votes for Bush. I'm so proud of them.

Our military deserves a new CinC

I heard on CNN that approximately 30,000 over-seas absentee ballots were mailed out. The analysts predicted that most were sent to military families, and that the overwhelming majority of those will be returned with a vote cast for GWB.

Yet another reason to thank our men and women in the armed forces.

Anyone see the WND Article about how a lot of the overseas military werent being sent their absentee ballots as they had a "mail error" Something like sending out the absentee ballots on intervals with the regualar mail and how some woundnt arrive on time to be counted. The USS Cole was specifically mentioned as one that might have trouble voting. I posted this about 8-10 days ago but heard very little response.

Um, hard to see how the USS Cole crew would have trouble voting considering they are stateside right now....

The number of military votes seems to be jumping up and down... what's the reality of the situation? Do we have any hard numbers on those votes and the likelyhood of them tipping it to Bush w/o problems? I recall a report saying that the small rural districts of Florida's votes will not be tallied until tomorrow... could farmers go Gore and cancel out the military vote?

I need info, I can't last another day!!

Don't worry about that, even if true. Rural areas vote conservative. This is true across the country.

I'm more worried about the fact that absentee ballots are much more susceptible to fraud.

Paladin,

The parts of FL still in question are western and northern; very conservative regions. This is the region that re-elects Cliff Stearns time and time again. Rep. Stearns regularly scores as one of the most conservative members of Congress.

The key to FL politics is this; in FL, the farther north you get, the farther south you get.

Thanks for the scoop guys! pax, I love that quote!

MBG, In regard to your comment on Cliff Stearns, he's so popular in our district that he ran un-opposed and received 100% of the vote. I've written Congressman Stearns on numerous occasions and have always received a reply, sometimes it's a form letter, other times it's a personal letter. He's one of the good ones.
