At least three (or four) different sights are advertised to have been adopted by the US military: Trijicon's ACOG 4x32 and Reflex (1x24), and Aimpoint M and ML red dots. Are these sights used mixed based on user/unit preference, or a certain sight on M16 and another on M4, or different sight for different type of operation, or have Aimpoints (adopted later) replaced ACOGs? Also, comparing these sights against each other, what pros and cons each has shown in the field use?
