Military MRE's

I'm looking where I can find some decently priced ($40 - $45 a case) Military or Military-style MRE's. Anyone out there know where I can find some or want to sell their Y2K stash?

Try US Cav, Brigade Quartermaster or Ranger Joe's, I don't have the URL's, but a search will turn them up I'm sure.

The current issue MRE's are marked US GOVT use only or something like that, but commercial ones are out there.

PS, From personal experience, the best "accessories" for making MRE's edible are a spice rack and some "Easy Cheese"

Another really good place is http://www.TheEpicenter.com They have current-run, fresh MRE's. You have to be careful of some of the other places which sell older MRE's. The Epicenter site has an explanation of how to date the MRE's. Always ask the seller when the MRE's were produced before buying. If they say they don't know, pass on them. The Epicenter also has lots of other survival products. Honest people and great to deal with.

Major Surplus and Survival:

had boxes of civvie MREs for sale at modest prices in their latest catalogue. Guess they are dumping their Y2K overstocks, because their lanterns and such are on sale as well.

I've ordered from them several times in the past with never a problem - the one thing I had to return once was taken back with no argument.

I got good deals on MREs and good service from both Cheaper Than Dirt and Major Surplus. About $45 for a case of 12.

You might want to call around and ask on the phone the "pack date" of the MREs as mentioned earlier on this thread.

Careful when you buy...Military MRE's are labeled not for sale..Civilian MRE's arent the same,in packaging, quality,or content.
