Military barrels ?

Barrels? Made out of wood staves with iron hoops. :D

Military rifle barrels are made whatever way is cheapest and meets accuracy demands. 100 years ago, they were almost all broach cut. During WW2, the Germans adopted hammer forging barrels for the speed and quality inherent in that method, while the US was still broach cutting barrels. Nowadays, most are either hammer forged or button rifled.

Made out of wood staves with iron hoops are cannon barrels. Wasn't wood though. Iron with wood on the outside and wrapped with iron hoops, just like a beer barrel.
Military rifle barrels are made the same way any rifle barrel is made. Bar stock of a specific grade of steel and a hole is drilled through it. Hammer forging is an HK thing.
