Mil spec, pre series 70 1911A1

Are there any to be had new? Not particular about the company. At a reasonable price. Not the $1000 for the Colt repro.

Is the SA mil-spec pre series 70?

How about the A-O WWII Parkerized?

I have seen Colt Government Models (commercial) from the 1950's through the 70's go for as little as $500 with only a bit of bluing wear. They are all steel, all forged, and really wonderful guns; if a gun has the Series 70 bushing and it does not appeal, it is easily replaced.

You might consider the Argentine Sistema 1927, it's a 100% Colt 1911 copy, made on Colt machinery. They're available from JLD for $299 for really nice ones, it's pretty close to the best $300 I've spent on guns.
