Mika Holsters - Is There Any Better?

When it comes to customer service, no. Here's what brought me to that conclusion. I had a Mika pocket holster (given to me used) that was made years ago and lived at the bottom of a drawer. Because of the way it was stored, the holster was pretty flimsy. After using it for some time the mouth was pinched in and the tacky material on the outside began to wear away. This caused the holster to come out with my gun when I would draw and it could not be reholstered. (I'll add that I never reholster into a pants pocket)

About a week ago, I emailed Robert Mika, explained my holster situation and inquired about wait time on a new holster. Mr. Mika replied to my email within minutes and asked to send the old holster back in exchange for a new one. I was quite surprised that he would offer to make me a new holster considering the age of it and the fact I was not the original owner. Today I received my new holster and it's everything I wanted and more. Mr. Mika has amazing customer service and makes a excellent holster. I will certainly purchase from him in the future.

That is an excellent story and outstanding customer service.

Been Using Robert's holsters for years. Best bang for the buck in a pocket holster. Never had to use his customer service but I would anticipate nothing but the best from this class act.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I got a chance to really carry it today in a pair of Khakis and it fits just right. With my nemesis the but of the gun will occasionally pop out, not the case with the Mika. I also tried it around the house in a pair of jeans and while it did cause a bit of bulk, there was no gun outline and the gun stayed put. Here are some pics for anyone who has not seen one in chestnut brown. I had only seen them in black before I got this one.

The correct answer to your question "Is there any better than a Mika holster" is NO.

Great value for your money, great product and Robert is a great guy.

I had not seen one in brown. Very, very nice. Now if I can only wear out the black one I have .....

To heck with it, I am going to have to get a brown one also.

My 340PD rides in a Mika holster, and in my opinion Bob is a class act. I can't say that for everyone who sells on the net, but Bob is really great.

Nice story. But, if I need another I'll buy it. I don't expect mine to last forever.

None better in my opinion. I have my S&W 36 in one right now. Also outstanding customer service. Well worth your effort. Robert is one of a kind. Try his holster. You will be glad you did.

A lot of bang for the buck, but I found them too bulky, and prefer a leather pocket holster for my 642.

I'm actually planning on buying one of his belt bolsters to try out with a Sig. I will also be having a holster made for my wifes future P238 (on layaway) so he has made a customer for life.

Mr. Mika was very insistent that I return the holster and he send me a new one. He seemed more concerned with evaluating the holster and comparing it to the new leather he his using.

I have one of his holsters. Are there better holsters? Maybe. Are there better holsters for a comparable price? Not that I've found. Is there a holster manufacturer that offers anywhere near the value and the customer service? Not that I've found.

The man is a true gentleman, and due to the fact that he charges too little and gives away too much, he will probably never be a wealthy man.

But I have never heard an ill word spoken of him, and I doubt I never will. And I'll wager he sleeps well at night.

All that has a value all its own. :)
