Might be a stupid question? Accurized?

Well, it's a real designation- with no real definition.

In general, it means taking additional steps beyond what was done at the factory to make the rifle more accurate...

Since this is a "factory" rifle, IMO it is not "accurized"- it's as it comes from the factory. It's like calling a custom rifle "accurized". It's not...it may be an accurate rifle, but it was built that way- not altered.

It's marketing hype, in this instance.

"Accurizing" an AR might consist of a better barrel, better trigger, free-float handguard...etc. if the rifle wasn't issued that way.

"Accurized" typically means reworking the firearm such that it's critical parts' dimensions are changed to minimum tolerances so it shoots good bullets more "accurately." There's often different opinions as what parts are critical and have to have minimum tolerances. Which explains why two firearms of the same make and model accurized by two different people will shoot the same bullet unequally accurate.

Those critical parts' dimensions are changed by either replacing them with custom made ones or changing their shape so they fit better. And sometimes it's a combination of both. Then there's the issue of how well the work is done. Proper testing that Colt AR will show if it's a real designation which truly makes a difference or it's a marketing gimmick. In my opinion, by the looks and wording of the ad, it's a marketing gimmick as no important and critical details of how its built are given.

It always sounded like a made-up word to me... precisionized... doesn't sound any better to me... its just like the others have said though as for what it means.

Bart B. posted good points. A firearm is an collection of individually manufactured parts. When simply assembled it should function as designed although the level of accuracy cannot always be predicted. In such a case a factory's minimum may only be 4 MOA to release for sale. Though only a marketing ploy, "Accurized" could imply an improved level of accuracy. Unless there is a guarantee of accuracy " Accurized " is only a word.
