Mid caliber pistol choice

I have a .22 auto and a 1911, both ends of the caliber spectrum so to speak. I am trying to decide on middle of the road auto, .32, .380. I like the Sig 232 and the CZ-83 Makarov. I have allready read the discussions on "mouse guns" and have sort of narrowed it down to these choices. Question is which is the most comfortable to shoot, is ammo expensive, and how about accuracy as a CCW?

How about looking at a small to medium sized 9mm? Ample power, good acuracy and very inexpensive to shoot. Suggestions: Kahr, Ruger P 95, Sig P239, The 8 round, single-stack version of the Beretta 92FS, HK Compact USP, Kel Tec P11, UZI Baby Eagle compact among others.

I have to second the 9mm. Ammo is generally cheaper in 9 than in .380 or .32acp and you have a better chance to defind yourself with the 9mm too. My choice would be the glock 26 or mayby a star firestar. Both have been very reliable for me.

I have a NAA Guardian in .32 which is a nice little pocket gun. While I agree with the 9mm statements of other posters and usually pack a 10mm or 45, the guardian is my toss in my pocket gun when I want to go "light". I have carried in my pocket a naa 22 mag revolver but like the .32 round better for defense. Remember the Germans used the .32 for self-defense for a long time and .380's fit in guns which are often too big to be pocket guns.

If you have the money to buy a Kahr, go for it; my MK40 is wonderful gun, I am sure that their 9mm guns are good too. Heck, I'm trying to come up with the money to buy me a K9.

The shop next door to me has NIB E9's for $399. These are the new style, w/SS frames and better triggers than my older blued one. Can't go wrong with one of these! :)
