Microstamping in CA

I was looking online for a recent update on the microstamping proposal in California. I see the 2nd Amendment organization has filed suit but haven't seen any current status.
Is anyone keeping up with this ?

The law was signed back in 2007, but was held up until patent hurdles could be cleared. I find it very interesting that a law was passed before the means to enforce it were known to be viable.

In any case, the SAF and CalGuns are amending Pena v. Cid to address the matter.

Stupid law. Doesn't take into consideration 1) revolvers or other non-semi-auto guns; 2) replacement firing pins; or 3) Brass-catching devices for starters.

It would be easier for a criminal to figure out a way to use this law to his advantage in "getting off" because the evidence can't match up the shell to the gun he got caught with. "IF IT DON'T FIT YOU MUST ACQUIT".
