Attention all gun owners in Michigan:

Today we must ALL make some phone calls. Concealed carry is to be voted on by mid week and we must be heard loud and clear to drown out the howlings of the antis, including our own Attorney General.

Call your Representative 517-373-0135

Call your Senator 517-373-2400

Call the Governor 517-373-3400

Tell them you are in support of CCW reform.

Lastly call the AG's office 517-373-1110 and remind her she is in the law enforcement business not the law making. Remind her she is to uphold the Michigan Constitution which states clearly our right to bear arms is not to be hindered.
Request she stop her radio ads that claim CCW reform will result in Michigan turning into Bosnia. You all know the facts that CCW states have les crime and passing of CCW causes crime rates to drop, tell her!

Self defense is a right that Michigan has too long denied its citizens. Be a part of the fix, everyone PLEASE MAKE THOSE CALLS!

Also here is a rough timeline as sent by MCRGO

The time we have been awaiting so long is finally here - we are in the final
stretch in our long campaign to get CCW reform passed in Michigan.

Based on our latest information, we expect the following sequence of events:

Tuesday AM: Conference committee reports out it's version of CCW reform

Tuesday PM: House vote on CCW

Wednesday: Senate Vote on CCW

Dove bill: Not sure when it will be voted on by the Senate

Vear Transportation bill: May be stalled in the Senate, not sure.

Kukuk Antique Firearm bill: May be stalled in the Senate, not sure.

What you should do:

1) Call your Representative and ask him to vote for CCW reform when it comes to
the floor for a vote. Information: (517) 373-0135

2) Call your Senator and ask him to please support all of these these bills,
and vote for them when they come to the floor. Information: (517)373-2400

3) Call the Governor's office at (517) 373-3400 and tell them you support these
bills, and ask that the Governor sign them into law when they reach his desk.

4) Call the Attorney General's office at (517) 373-1110 and ask that she stop
campaigning against the CCW reform bill. Ask her to stick to enforcing the laws

5) Write a short letter to the editor on one or more of these bills (one issue
per letter).

6) If you can take the time, plan to be in Lansing on Tuesday and/or Wednesday
to sit in the Capital Gallery when these historic votes are taken. While you
are there, make sure to let your own representative and Senator know you are in
the Capital. You can send a note to the floor via a page from the lobby outside
the Senate and the House when they are in session. If you are there when they
are not in session, you can visit them in their offices. These kinds of visits
have a very positive effect.

7) Get every gun owner you know to do the same thing.

8) Plan to celebrate! :-)

These calls need to go out Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Thank you for your support.

Hey!

I just called all the numbers.
I had a fun time describing my feelings to the Attorney General's secretary why I felt that Jenifer Granholm's job is not to violate our constitution but instead to protect and follow it.

I found out when calling the governor's office that they are doing a poll and writing down every pro/con call for CCW they get. They just answer the phone and you tell them your name and that you want the Governor to pass CCW and they say, "Ok! Thanks." Took 10 seconds.
It was so easy in fact, that I got 6 other people here in my dorm to call in.

If you were hesitant to call in because you might think you don't know enough, or they may not take you seriously, don't worry like that! They are very nice and polite.
Please, call these numbers! This is may be our last chance!

I will publish the first two posts of this thread on my anti-antigunlobby@egroups.com list. There are a few from Michigan and other States that will be interested.

FWIW, http://www.vote.com has a poll on this subject. You have to bring up the Michigan questions to find it. Last night it was 100% for allowing law-abiding citizens carry concealed weapons (only two of us had voted0), you have to supply a zip code when you register to use their service.

The results are now 3 yes and 2 no.
