Michigan CCW question

I will be taking my CCW course in Michigan on this Thursday. i plan on submitting the paperwork on the following day, friday. How long does it take to get my permit from the day i submit the paperwork? I heard that the state meets once a month to approve paperwork of applicants. does anyone know when that date is? thanks.
 
It depends on the county you live in. Wayne county takes quite a while, Oakland county is around 5 weeks. Not sure about others.
 
Make sure you arrive as soon as the county clerk opens. I friend of mine told me that when he went to get his in Oakland, the wait for finger printing was hours long.
 
I was surprised this time, it took only around a month or so, and that's WAYNE COUNTY! When I first applied, it took 4 months and when I went to renew, they told me renewals were taking less time.:rolleyes: The renewal took 5 months.:eek: Third time though, was the charm. They also told me that if my present license expired before the new one came to come back in and they would give me an extension.;) That turned out to be unecessary, but it's led me to believe they're starting to know what they're doing. It was certainly far more painless than ever before.

In Oakland, I'd be surprised if it took more than 6 weeks for even a new license. And in Michigan, remember, they're CPLs.;)
 
Ive never had any trouble with Oakland County. No troubles and Ive never waited too long. I think at best Ive waited 4 weeks and Ive renewed my permit 3 times now.
