Concealed Carry Reform legislation is set to move in the Michigan Legislature.
The House leadership is committed to moving and passing this legislation. The
commitment of the Michigan Senate, however, is in question.
Please call your Senator (main number: 517-373-2400) as well as Senate Majority
Leader Dan Degrow (number: 517-373-7708). Ask them to cooperate with the House
in getting the concealed carry legislation (S460 and HB 4530) to conference
committee quickly, to ensure the conferees are appointed promptly, and to
ensure timely passage of the conference version of the bill by the full Senate so that it may be sent to Governor Engler for his signature.
In addition, please ask them to take prompt action on the Kukuk Antique
Firearms Reform Bill, HB4431: (pass it) and the Vear Transportation Bill,
HB4532: (appoint conferees to the conference committee and pass the conference
version).
It is very important that you make these calls as soon as possible starting
Tuesday morning, November 28th. We have worked for many years to get this
legislation passed, and we are closer than we have ever been. We don^Òt have
time for a postcard to members who don^Òt have email, so your calls are even
more important. Pass the word to every gun owner you know to let them know how
you feel.
