MFG date for Colt Firearam

I have a Colt Agent airweight and would like to know the year it was made...I tried colts website search but no record was found..Any ideas ?:confused:
 
I recently looked up DOM for my Police positive special on the Colt website. The gun has an "S" stamped under the serial number which I included in the search. The resulting search returned " No match ". Then I tried just the serial number and got a list of about five different models Manufactured on different dates (including mine; 1925). You don't say if you used a pre-fix or suffix in your search, but if you did, try again without it.

There are many, many members here more familiar with Colt than I am. One of them can doubtless supply better information.
 
Here's a web site with Colt serial number data up into 1979.

If it's later, you can call Colt. They'll give you the date over the phone, but won't tell you more unless you buy an Archive letter.

If you post the serial, including any letter prefixes or suffixes, some of us have numbers into 1985. With Colt's any letters under or over the serial are not part of the serial, only letters at the beginning or end of the numbers are part.

Post with the last two numbers as "X".

Technically. Colt never used the term "air weight" that was strictly a S&W term.
