Metro Arms American classic

What is everyone's views on these pistols? I have the American Classic Amigo which Is the officers model. I bought it on a whim a few months ago and love the finish and fitment. Since it looked at it in the store it felt solid and like a nice mid level pistol but I'm no 1911 expert so what is the general concensus on these pistols?
Thanks

have no personal experience, but seem to recall comments from users saying favorable things about their purchase. I believe customer service was rated very high also.

I've been carrying one 1911 or the other for over 30 years now. I purchased a Metro Arms Commander a little over a year ago and couldn't be happier. The fit and finish is better than many higher dollar guns and shoots very good too. The only thing I didn't like and others have said the same is that the recoil springs are pretty crappy, I had to replace mine after 300 or so rounds. No problem since this is a cheap and easy fix. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I love the pistol and within the first week in changed out the spring aswell. Their customer service mailed a heavier spring out within the week. Excellent service and it love the gun but I am not confident enough with it yet to carry. I guess it takes some getting use to, shooting a 1911.

Both of mine look great and shoot great. The only thing I don't get out of these two 1911s is malfunction practice, they keep going bang when I pull the trigger.

I don't own one personally, but I have a bit of trigger time on one of my shooting buddy's American Classics. It is also several years old and has many many rounds through it. Action is nice and side/frame fit is another high point. The thing that I don't like is the finish hasn't held up to daily carry very well, it just seems weak.

Well it's settled I'm going to the range on Friday with a couple boxes of ammo tho teach my self to shoot this pistol. I can't see giving up on it since everyone I've talked to says the same about 1911 and metro arms seem to have a strong following

I personally would buy a Rock Island 1911 if I wanted one of the cheap entry level guns. The Metro Arms guns have a better finish but the Rock Island guns are cheaper and function every bit as well.

The Metros are still my favorite fillipino made 1911's. However....RIA's are right up there and their lifetime warranty and excellent CS can't be ignored. In terms of fit, finish and overall quality however, the Metro edges out RIA.
