Metalife on Aluminum frame??

What is Metalife? Is it something to protect aluminum alloy frames? I don't practice as much as I'd like to with my Mustang Pocketlite because I don't want to wear it out. It's my great lttle summer pistol and nobody makes anything similar. (Locking barrel, 12.5 ounces)

I have never heard of Metalife , I have used Metaloy before on about 4 different handguns with very good results . Hardchrome can not be applied to aluminum . Good luck , Mike...
I have heard nothing but praise about MetaLife. Go to www.parkcitiestactical.com and check out the P7 bulletin board. There is a picture of a P7 PSP hard chromed by MetaLife
I have had 2 CZ75s hard chromed by Metalife and also a Beretta 92. They do a great job and are inexpensive. They will do a semi-auto pistol for $95 and that includes one magazine with that price. They do hardchrome aluminium, as my Beretta 92 can attest to. It costs an extra $15 to do a gun that is part or all aluminium. Apparently the process has a few more steps with aluminium. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Their website is www.metalifeind.com . The guy who does the plating is Ron Marhovsky(sp?). Email or call and they will send you a price list. They way it wasd explained to me, is the aluminum frames do require another treatment before the SS Chromium M finish is put on. Rockwell hardness is somewhere between 70-72 = highly scratch, rust resistant. Prices are phenomally low for this finish. Hope this helps.

If they can hardchrome aluminum then I stand corrected . I was told you had to nickle aluminum it could not be hardchromed , this came from Wilson combat , Sigarms , and Metaloy . I just went to the Accurate Plating and Weaponry webpage and they say they can hardchrome aluminum with a few extra steps . You learn something new everyday . Good luck , Mike...
